Assignment #1: Inspiration

I will explain in more detail how to do this assignment in class. We will spend some time looking at web sites in pairs before you complete it. If you miss class on 8/27/12 then contact me before completing this assignment.

    I chose this one because the band had a goo amount of content. Things like what they were currently doing, what they have planned for the future and their online store was organized.

      The water life website contains a simple and new way of providing content for the user to explore.

      I chose the syfy website because it has a unique design which differentiates itself from other websites. its sleek, clean and is appealing to the user.

      The play media site is very entertaining in the way it responds to the user.

    I like the function of this website. It’s clean and simple. I like the texture. I could also get ideas so it’s multifunctional.

    I like using this site for inspiration and it’s very informative.

    3) I don’t have a site for Content. I usually Google Typography or poster designs to get ideas. Some websites I run into have a well-organized and interesting content.

    Best available resource for the discerning record collector. No bells or whistles, but thorough write ups on releases from all the specific pressings to the album art. Also, has a marketplace function which allows users to buy albums from other collectors.

    2. http://www.cpeople.ru → Dude with a squirrel deserved to be on this list. This is “Creative People” Design studio web-site. High-end pictures, well-organized portfolio and simple yet cool JavaScript.

    3. http://www.airpano.com → I assume people who created that project as good photographers as programmers. Functionality is amazing: this photo-navigation required a lot of programming.

    net.tutsplus.com for the functionality because it’s easy to navigate and it has some great tutorials on html, css, javascript, etc.

    psd.tutsplus.com for content because it has the links to the designers site where you can go and ask questions. Also it is very easy to navigate through.

    http://jackiechan.com site for design. Now this is not Jim Carrey site but I think it’s pretty well designed.

    When my partner Yahir brought up this website, I agreed that this is a good sample of well content because it shows all what musicians’ websites have to include such as advertisement, sales of their goods, media player, and communication tools.

    I think this is one of the greatest example for good design. We can see Maggie Taylor’s work at a sight, and will not get bored of tons of her pages because of variety of design per page. However the same background and font used all over the website shows unity.

    From articles to videos, there is a lot of diverse content on this site. It’s coverage of technology ranges from in depth to simple “top lists”. Lots of great information.

    It achieves a clean look while using vibrant colors and a busy background. Not easy to pull off.

    The simplicity of the site and large font/buttons allows for easy navigation and clear directions. Also, it loads fast.

    **I missed the 2nd half of class, which is why this assignment is late.
